Okay, here's how I can help you with/introduce you to Twitter

Have a look, do a bit of reading, jot down your questions and schedule some time for a training session with me.

Twitter = micro blogging = 'talking' publicly on the internet. It is extensively used as a status update service to keep in touch. (ambient awareness)
Twitter is also = real time web.... (breaking news)
Twitter can and is now used by many as feed reader, as RSS* replacement.

The New York Times | Technology | David Pogue - 15 Jan 2009 - Twittering tips for beginners

"In the end, my impression of Twitter was right and wrong. Twitter IS a massive time drain. It IS yet another way to procrastinate, to make the hours fly by without getting work done, to battle for online status and massage your own ego.
But it’s also a brilliant channel for breaking news, asking questions, and attaining one step of separation from public figures you admire. No other communications channel can match its capacity for real-time, person-to-person broadcasting'.

Twitter | Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages.  People write short updates, often called "tweets"  of 140 characters or fewer.  These messages are posted to your profile or your blog, sent to your followers, and are searchable on Twitter search.

Do I need anything special to use it?
All you need to use Twitter is an internet connection or a mobile phone. Join us here! Once you're in, type your first update into the web box.  To get an idea of what other people are saying or doing on Twitter, check out Twitter search to see what Twitter's all about.  You can search by keyword or just check out the trending topics to see what's hot on Twitter right now.

Techcrunch | Blogging vs mircoblogging
"So is blogging back, while microblogging is on the skids? A one-month spike in the popularity of blogs doesn’t tell you much of anything, but in any case it’s the wrong question. Blogging never really went away, and was in fact helped by Twitter, which is becoming the preferred feed reader for many people (thanks to services like Twitterfeed).
And don’t count out microblogging just yet. Twitter is finally rolling out improvements to its site such as Lists and the new Retweet button. Once geo-location features kick in, Twitter’s growth could come back with a vengeance".

* BBC | What are News Feeds?
"News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.
Feeds are also known as RSS. There is some discussion as to what RSS stands for, but most people plump for 'Really Simple Syndication'. In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people".
 * NRC | Snel nieuws via RSS
"Wat is RSS?
RSS ofwel really simple syndication is een eenvoudige manier om automatisch op de hoogte te blijven van favoriete websites. Bezoekers hoeven niet meer te surfen naar internetpagina's om te kijken of de pagina's zijn gewijzigd.
Zij kunnen zich abonneren op RSS-feeds van hun favoriete sites en krijgen dan via RSS automatisch een boodschap wanneer webpagina's zijn geactualiseerd".
